Help Maintain Your Mother Church
Many people are well aware of the remaining $13 million debt from the emergency $30 million dome and roof replacement. This debt would be eliminated if every one of the 600,000 or so Catholics in the Twin Cities region would give $25. That would be a miracle… and we believe in miracles! As it is, we should look into our hearts and give as much as we can—the poor immigrants were proud to build it with their blood, sweat, and tears. It is our privilege to inherit and pass on to future generations this great legacy of faith.
On the weekend of September 13-14 there was an archdiocesan-wide collection to specifically address this debt—read the article in The Catholic Spirit—but it is not too late to contribute.
It is important to distinguish between the parish operations of the Cathedral and the massive historic preservation activity required for this great building. The Cathedral Heritage Foundation is the newly created organization to care for this artistic masterpiece. Please don’t take your normal support away from our vital parish activities. I ask that you prayerfully consider an additional contribution to this new foundation which will ensure the viability of our beloved Cathedral of Saint Paul for centuries to come.
To contribute, please send your gift with “roof repair” on the memo of your check made payable to “Cathedral Heritage Foundation” at 239 Selby Avenue, Saint Paul, MN 55102. You may make credit card payments by telephone by calling 651.357.1321 Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thank you for your generosity!
