Liturgical
Volunteers
The Sunday Eucharist is central
to the life of the community. We have many opportunities for individuals
who feel called to use their gifts in ministry during our liturgies.
Extraordinary Minister of
Holy Communion
This ministry involves the
reverent distribution of the Eucharist at the Sunday Mass of one’s choice.
You must be a member of the Cathedral parish, and have been Confirmed
Catholic.
EMHCs are scheduled approximately
twice a month. Training is provided.
Lector
This is the ministry of proclamation
of the Scriptures at the Sunday Mass of one’s choice. You must be a
member of the Cathedral and have been Confirmed Catholic.
Lectors are scheduled approximately
once a month. Training is provided.
Altar
Server
Open to ages 11-adult, a server
assists the celebrating priest as needed during the Sunday Masses. You
must be a member of the Cathedral and have been Confirmed Catholic.
Servers are scheduled approximately
twice a month. Training is provided.
Usher
Ushers assist worshippers
on Sunday by seating them, taking up the collection and in welcoming
all who come into the Cathedral.
Greeter
Anyone, including families,
who can be welcoming and hospitable to those who come through the doors
on a Sunday for Mass. Training is provided. Greeters are scheduled 1-4
times per month at the Mass they usually attend.
Environment
Assists
with major seasonal changes in the "decorating" of the sanctuary and
other areas of the church for the various special liturgies and liturgical
seasons of the Church (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, etc.).
