Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is the ministry that emphasizes the compassionate care and concern of the Gospel for others—making Christ present to those in need.

Befrienders

A group of pastoral volunteers who offer a listening and compassionate presence with those who are grieving, suffering from illness or experiencing other difficulties. Individuals visit the homebound, and those in health care centers.

For those interested in becoming a Befriender volunteer, please contact Deacon Phil Stewart at 651-228-1766, for the training schedule and further information.

Divorced and Separated Support Group
and Moving On Support Group

Our goal is to provide support through the separation and divorce process by promoting acceptance of self and situation, by fostering personal and spiritual development and by challenging persons to move on to new growth.

Eucharistic Ministry to the Homebound

Trained individuals are connected with an individual or Health Care Center to bring Holy Communion on a weekly or bimonthly basis.

Ministry of Prayer

Individuals receive monthly prayer intentions through a letter from the pastoral care department.

Community Caring for Life

Sponsors a weekly Rosary for Life held after the 10:00 am Sunday Mass, in the Blessed Virgin Mary chapel. All are invited to participate in this time of prayer for the recognition in our world of the inherent dignity of all human life.

Hospital Calls

These are done by members of the Pastoral Care team. Please contact the parish office at (651)-228-1766 if you wish to be visited, or know of someone in the hospital.

Funeral Lunch Committee

This is a group of individuals who are willing to set up, serve and clean up at funeral lunches. There is no cooking or baking required. The time commitment is 3-4 hours each funeral. Volunteers serve on an "on-call" basis.

Calix: Catholic Recovering Alcoholic or Chemical Dependents Organization

Holds monthly breakfast meetings in the Assembly room on the 3rd Sunday of the month, following the 8:00 am Sunday Mass. Anyone who has experienced difficulties with alcoholism or chemical abuse is welcome to attend.
