Social
Justice
Isaiah
The Cathedral is a member of this
ecumenical coalition of churches in the metro area and St. Cloud. Isaiah
has a two-fold mission. First, we work to build strong congregations
through the development of strong and effective lay leaders. Secondly,
we bond together to work for justice in our society. We work with political
leaders and officials to advocate for a better world.

The mission of this committee is to help our parish members make the connection
between the social dimension of the gospel and daily life. It also sponsors parish
events that directly affect an immediate local need. Some of the projects have
been Habitat for Humanity, Giving Tree, and Food shelves collection.
Loaves and Fishes
Volunteers assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up from meals held at
the Dorothy Day Center. The Cathedral works the supper shift on the 5th Saturday
of a month and/or the 2nd Saturday lunch from June—December.
Sowers of Justice
Provides educational opportunities on social justice issues in conjunction
with the Archdiocesan Social Justice office.
Caritas
This fund comes from several sources: 5% of the parish’s weekly Sunday plate
and envelope collection, the Holy Thursday collection and voluntary contributions
made by parishioners. The Caritas board studies the application of those
non-profit groups who apply for special funding, weighing their decisions
on a set of criteria that is congruent with our parish mission statement.
