Centennial Celebrations Have Begun!

The official opening of our 2015 Centennial took place on January 25, the Feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, with Mass at 10:00 a.m. The first of several Centennial exhibits, A Timeline of Cathedral History, is now on display on the Lower Level of the Cathedral, and may be viewed anytime during the Cathedral's regular opening hours. The Timeline, put together under the leadership of Centennial Planning Committee member Carl Simmons, is an opportunity to follow, photo by photo, the construction of what Archbishop John Ireland always called the New Cathedral of Saint Paul. It begins with Ireland’s decision on Holy Thursday, 1904, and takes the viewer year-by-year from the early construction through the building and embellishment of the exterior of the Cathedral.
