Pastoral Care
A Community Caring for Life
This committee supports efforts to advance the Culture of Life. A central role in this effort is a special concern for the protection of the unborn. This group invites all to join them in praying a Rosary for Life after the 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday Masses.
BeFriender Ministry
BeFrienders are lay volunteers who provide pastoral care to people in difficult and transitional situations, such as illness, loneliness, or loss of a loved one. The skills the BeFrienders learn in training allow them to respond with compassion to those in need and thus serve as a living reminder of God’s love.
Funeral Lunch Committee
The Funeral Lunch Committee provides food service for families scheduling lunches in Hayden Hall after a funeral. There is no cooking or baking required. Volunteers for this important ministry to the parish are most welcome.
Mentor Couples
Couples preparing for marriage utilize a marital inventory as a tool to help them understand the differing ways that each of them views particular situations within marriage. It helps them to focus on the core issues of their relationship. Marriage mentor couples facilitate a discussion between the bride and groom, affirming those areas in which they agree with each other, and exploring areas which they see differently and that may need further discussion.
Moms Group
The mission of the Cathedral Mother’s group, is to help moms to find Jesus Christ in their daily lives, to help them to connect their maternity to God’s calling for them and their families, and to support the domestic Church. The schedule of events focuses on being nurturing to mothers, while incorporating the entire family for occasional large events.
Vocations Committee
This committee fosters an openness for individuals discerning God's call to the priesthood or consecrated religious life.
