Lenten Pathways Series

“Seeking the Face of the Lord”

Join us every Monday night during Lent (with the exception of Holy Week) as Father Erickson leads an exploration of Pope Benedict’s important recent work “Jesus of Nazareth.”  Reading the book is encouraged but not required for participation.  Every presentation begins at 7pm and is free and open to the public.  Our first session will be on February 11 in the Cana Chapel.  All subsequent presentations will be held in Hayden Hall.  Make “Seeking the Face of the Lord” part of your Lenten journey this year.

What is Pathways?

Pathways is an organization that provides faith education and spiritual formation opportunities for all adults. It has been developed by a group of Cathedral parishioners with the support of clergy and staff. Many of us received religious education as children, but for some, that education did not continue after Confirmation.

As adults, we need to continue growing in our faith and spirituality. Therefore, regardless of your background, education, or experiences, Pathways can offer value to your faith journey. Join our parish community for fellowship and the opportunity to grow in your Catholic faith.

All parishioners and visitors are welcome!

Mission Statement:

To assist in the spiritual development of parishioners and guests by providing continuous adult faith education and spiritual growth opportunities, rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Coming this fall?

What is Evangelium?

Evangelium is a dynamic, visual way to learn the teachings of

the Catholic Church. This program is open to all levels of learning.

Sessions will begin September 2007! Each session is a stand

alone topic so you may attend all or as many sessions as you

wish.  A modular resource, it follows the same division as the

Catechism of the Catholic Church into Creed, Sacraments, Morals

and Prayer.

How does Evangelium work?

Evangelium delivers the essential elements of Catholic beliefs

and practice in concise and stimulating portions, using slide

presentations (in PowerPoint?) and illustrated participants?

books.

What does the Evangelium course consist of?

25 sessions, 1 hour 10 minutes each.

10 sessions covering the Creed, 5 sessions for the Sacraments,

5 for Morals and 5 for Prayer.

What experience or knowledge do I need?

None. It does not matter what your background,

education or experiences are. Everyone can be enriched

by these presentations.

What if I miss a session?

Each module is clearly structured, and stands alone.

If you miss a session, it will not affect what you get

out of following sessions. Pathways will be running

this series periodically so you will have opportunities

to catch up on missed sessions.

Schedule for Evangelium:

All session begin at 7:00PM in the lower level of the Cathedral except for April 28, 2008 ? that session will be held at

St. Vincent de Paul Parish in St. Paul.
