Religious Education for Children

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

CGS is a Montessori based program for children age three to six. Catechists are specially trained; parent helpers are welcome to assist. Download the brochure. [The Saturday class for 2012-2013 is already filled to capacity.]

Catechesis for Children

Classes for Grades 1 and 2 prepare a child for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. These are offered at the Cathedral on Saturday mornings from September through May. Grades 3 to 8 are designed to develop and deepen a child’s faith as they mature.

Catechesis for Young People

Preparation for Confirmation is a two year program beginning for students in 9th grade. Upon successful completion of the program, reception of the sacrament of Confirmation takes place at the end of the 10th grade year.
